About me

Raffaella Catenio

I am a restorer graduated in Lodi and specialized in Florence at the school of restoration “La Cantoria”. I have several decades of experience in restoration of ceramics and I am specialized in restoration and conservation of black forests and enamel quadrants, enamel snuff boxes and different objects of art in general. I have been working for years with antique dealers and collectors and I have turned my passion for antiques into a very rewarding job.
The restoration of quadrants includes: quadrants of vintage and modern watches, wristwatch, pocket, desk clocks, German watches – type “Black Forest”.

EDUCATION:
Year 1988/89
Secondary school diploma in Art studies at the Art School of Lodi, Italy.

Year 1989/90
Suitability certificate for a period of five years.

Year 1990/91
Biannual Academic Course in restoration of archaeological sites of ceramic and stone at “La Cantoria” in Greve in Chianti (FI).
Certificate issued according to art. 14 of Law 21 December 1978, n.845 and Regional Law 21 February 1985, n. 16 as amended by Regional Law 23 January 1989, n.9. Amended, Decree N. 1722del 25/03/2003

December 1991- January 1992
Internship in the work of metallic materials at the laboratory of Florence Caillard in Bologna.

June-August 1996
Internship at the Centre for Restoration in Florence to learn methods and techniques of conservation of archaeological metals.

Refresher course “Meeting Restoration 2” in Trento entitled “Climatology applied to the conservation of archaeological assets and historical artistic objects”.
